What is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of plant-derived, aromatic essential oils to heal physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. This can be achieved through many methods, including topically, via inhalation/diffusion or baths. Essential oils can be separated into categories based on the therapeutic potential of certain functional groups within, and these functional groups prove to be an important part of the chemistry of essential oils. Scientific evidence from peer-reviewed clinical studies of essential oils as well as different methods of application have shown the efficacy of essential oils and the potential therapeutic effects of individual constituents to support these classifications. The science of blending oils must come with an understanding of the synergistic effect of the constituents of all essential oils used in the blend, as well as an understanding of how the chosen application will influence outcomes.

Essential oils have been used in cosmetics, perfumes, and drugs, as well as for spiritual, therapeutic, hygienic, and ritualistic purposes by the ancient Chinese, Indians, Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans for nearly the last 6,000 years. I aim to honor the science and tradition of Aromatherapy as I create healing, aromatic and evidence-based blends catered to each client's individual wants and needs.

Great physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing can be achieved with the individual application of Yoga or Aromatherapy, but using these healing modalities together creates an amazing synergistic effect that can allow for exponentially greater results. Aromatherapeutic blends can help to influence your thoughts and feelings both on and off the mat. With one or several specific goals in mind, an evidence-based made-for-you blend applied or diffused in tandem with a personalized yoga sequence, focused on breath and intentional movement, may bring deeper awareness and healing than when utilized separately. Whether you want to feel more energized, soothe an overactive nervous system, boost cognitive function or immunity or address specific muscle tension or soreness, combining the benefits of Aromatherapy and Yoga may provide the outstanding support you need!

Hey there! I'm Quinn.

For over ten years, my yoga practice has transformed my life, both on and off the mat, through the exploration of self-empowerment. Along that journey, I discovered and grew a passion for Aromatherapy, the science of holistic healing through essential oils.

Since receiving my Master of Science in Aromatherapy with Honors from the American College of Healthcare Sciences in 2020, I’ve become a Certified Clinical Aromatherapist (National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy Level 3) and certified as a Professional Member of the Alliance of International Aromatherapists. I received my Yoga Alliance 200-hour Certification from Yoga Works and my 300-hour Advanced Certification from Yoga Vida, both in New York City, to complete RYT-500+ certification.
